Disney Packing List for Toddlers (What You Actually Need + What to Skip)

From a Tired Mom Who’s Been There…A Lot

No matter how many times you’ve done it, planning a Disney trip can feel overwhelming. Add toddlers, babies or multiple kids into the mix and suddenly you’re juggling snacks, meltdowns, blowouts, dead phone batteries, and a daily itinerary that looks like a NASA launch schedule.

I’ve been there. I am there. And after more than a handful of trips with little ones, I’ve learned one very important thing:

What you pack (or don’t pack) can truly make or break your trip.

Yes, you can buy things on property or run to a nearby Target/Walmart or even get Amazon delivery-but when you’re tired, sweaty, stroller and toddler-wrangling, and without a car in an unfamiliar place, those “quick errands” become anything but quick.

So here it is- my mom-approved Disney packing list for toddlers and young kids. Items we actually use every day, and the things that have saved our sanity more than once.

However, before we dive in: A Quick Mom Disclaimer:

Every family is different. Every kid is different. Every meltdown is…uniquely special.

So while these items have been absolutely essential for my family, feel free to adjust based on your own needs. Think of this list as your starting point, not a one-size-fits-all rulebook.

Continue reading for a very thorough list of 10 (+ a bonus) must-have items we never enter the parks without.

Lightweight Stroller with Storage

This is non-negotiable.

Look for:
✔ reclining seat
✔ large canopy
✔ easy fold
✔ good storage underneath

👉 I personally love this Graco Ready2Jet stroller— super lightweight and folds easily
👉 Another great option is Ingenuity 3Dquickclose CS+-bottom storage is a little smaller but comes in multiple colors to help your stroller stand out (a huge plus)

💡 Mom tip:
Add these stroller hooks + a stroller organizer like this Momcozy Stroller caddy or this larger Disney Baby stroller organizer for easy access to snacks, drinks, and essentials.

Portable Fan

Florida heat + toddlers = meltdown city.

We’ve tried several, but this SWEETFULL Baby Stroller Fan is by far my favorite.

✔ rechargeable
✔ securely attaches to any stroller
✔ battery life indicator (so you’re not caught off-guard with a dead fan)

These Gaiatop Mini Portable Fans are also fantastic.

✔ rechargeable
✔ small size fits perfectly in any “grab and go bag”
✔ three fan speeds

💧Reusable Water Bottles

Skip buying overpriced water all day. This is maybe one of the easiest way to save a few bucks.

👉 We bring these TakeToday Collapsible Water Bottles in addition to our stainless-steel insulated cups for several reasons.
✔ easy to throw in any small bag
✔ refill throughout the park
✔ Avoid $5 water bottles all day

🧊 Cooling Towels

Absolute NECESSITY in the hot months. I personally like both of these brands.

FROGG TOGGS come in two sizes -adults and youth
✔ Stays cool, even in extreme heat
✔ These Yeslife cooling towels come with a handy storage bag with hooks

True story:
My husband refused to use one… until he finally did.

Now he whines non-stop if he forgets his 😂

🍿Snacks (and LOTS of them)

Of course there is a ton of food to try around the parks and I highly encourage you to try them. However they can add up quickly and bringing your own ensures you’ll have something on hand that your child will eat, and it will be quickly available no matter where you are.

We also pack:

✔ quick snacks for lines
✔ backup snacks for meltdowns

I absolutely love this adorable insulated Disney cooler bag from Petunia Pickle Bottom. I’m always amazed at how much they can hold and the insulation is great for a long day at the park.

We also use these reusable snack bags for a more budget-friendly options that fit better in small “grab and go” bags.

💡 Mom Hack (IMPORTANT)

Pack a small grab and go bag for ride lines. Include things like:

👉 This makes transitions from stroller to lines much easier.

🧼 Wipes (for literally everything)

Sticky hands.
Spilled snacks.
Mystery messes.

✔ baby wipes
✔ disinfecting wipes

You WILL use them.

🧴 Hand Sanitizer

Because… Disney + kids = germs.

👉 Spray versions = less sticky + less messy

🔋 Portable Charger

Your phone = your entire trip.

  • Lightning Lane
  • mobile orders
  • photos

👉 Don’t skip this.

🌧️ Ponchos

Florida weather = unpredictable.

Even a short rain = miserable toddler and a miserable toddler means everyone else is miserable too! Check out my Disney World Weather by Month guide for more information regarding what months tend to be the most likely for rain.

🛍️ Foldable Tote Bag (UNDERRATED HERO)

This is one of the BEST Disney hacks. It may actually deserve it’s own post.

Keep a small tote in your bag so you can:
✔ hold souvenirs
✔ manage stroller unloads
✔ survive bus rides with sleeping kids

Because somehow… you ALWAYS leave with more than you came with.

❌ What You Can Skip

  • Overpacking outfits
  • Bulky toys
  • Huge diaper bags

👉 Keep it simple. You’ll thank yourself later.

✨ Final Thoughts

You don’t need everything.

But having the right things?
That’s what makes Disney feel magical instead of stressful.

Start with this list, adjust for your family, and you’ll be way ahead of the game.
